Top 3 Things To Do In Oahu, Hawaii

Hello Friends!

I visited Hawaii for the first time and it was a BLAST! It was a family vacation with my parents, siblings, and both sets of grandparents. We stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Waikiki and we enjoyed the awesome pools and private beach. I will link the hotel below. Our family did a lot of research about excursions in Oahu and the ones we decided on did not disappoint.

The obvious thing to do in Hawaii is visit the beach! They are beautiful and the water is so clear and provides perfect snorkeling conditions! We got the pleasure of being able to snorkel with a sea turtle right off the beach at our hotel!

Besides the obvious beach day, I want to recommend my top 3 things to do in Oahu, Hawaii!

1. Visit the North Shore

My family stayed in Waikiki and although the shopping is great ti feels more like a big city and less like a tropical island. To escape the noise and soak in the beautiful island views I highly taking a trip over to the North Shore of Honolulu. The views are breathtaking and the beaches are beautiful. We did a hidden gems island tour and the bus took us to all of the most scenic local beaches and local spots. Our driver did an awesome job narrating the drive and explaining the history of the areas we were driving through.

2. Pay your respects at Pearl Harbor

I highly recommend visiting the Pearl Harbor museum and memorial. Pearl Harbor is the site of a naval base where Japanese planes attacked on Sunday, December 7, 1941. This attack was very significant because the United States entered World War II the day after the attack. The harbor is also the resting place of many soldiers who lost their lives aboard the sunken naval vessels in the harbor. I will link the Memorial site below.

3. Attend a Luau

This is a must when you visit Hawaii! It was one of the highlights of my family’s trip to Hawaii. We went to Germaine's luau and the whole family enjoyed themselves. It was a great opportunity to soak in the Hawaiian culture while having fun. The luau that we went to had a shuttle that picked us up from the hotel. The package we purchased included a buffet dinner, unlimited soft drinks, and 3 adult beverages per person. The food was supper tasty, we all loved the pork! The luau took place at a beach front location that was so beautiful. The show and audience interaction made it so special. My little brother Daniel won the men’s Hula challenge. My husband and brother in law, Jordan, hopped on stage to learn how to Hula and Jordan ended up being the lucky solo dancer. We were dyeing laughing the entire time—Jordan’s hips don’t lie! The performers were excellent and one of my favorites was the fire dance! I will link info to the luau we attended below!
